Situated in Uluberia, about 60 km from Calcuta, the Asha Bavhan Center( ABC) aims to help the most vulnerable people, such has women and children, and especially minors with physical disabilities who come from impoverished and marginalized families.

Situated in Uluberia, about 60 km from Calcuta, the Asha Bavhan Center( ABC) aims to help the most vulnerable people, such has women and children, and especially minors with physical disabilities who come from impoverished and marginalized families.

The center includes an orphanage, a home for women with physical disabilities, a school, a center of rehabilitation, a workshop for prosthesis, programs of individual and familiar orientation, and education in basic literacy.

Although the residences only had the capacity to accommodate 185 people, the center attended to more than 1.000 children of a hundred towns of 4 districts of West Bengal.

In 2004 the foundation financed the construction of various buildings for this big project.

It should be noted that, through the staff of this center, the Foundation supported the Asha-o-Anand program, which means “joy and hope” and aims improve skills of young people without financial resources, through jewelry. For this purpose, broken or damaged pieces of gold were sent to the Foundation and a volunteer jeweler from ABC made jewels as gifts.
