The Bam earthquake was a terrible earthquake that hit southeast Iran during 26th December, 2003.

Objectives

Assist orphan children after the earthquake that devastated the city of Bam.

The Bam earthquake was a terrible earthquake that hit southeast Iran during 26th December, 2003 destroying 70% of the structures of the historic city of Bam. In this earthquake, between 35,000 and 46,000 people lost their lives (between 30% and 45% of the population of Bam), 50,000 were injured (50% of the population of Bam) and 80,000 left homeless (80% Bam population). The bad construction of the area was responsible for most of the victims.

City of Hope and Joy Foundation and the NGO Messengers of Peace helped thousands of children that became orphans with  the disaster and they  godfather 40 of these children.
